Kites flying, people strolling, waves lapping the beach, and to our right the glorious Royal and Ancient St. Andrews Club House…. This is the beach made famous for the opening scene in the movie Chariots of Fire!

Sometimes you don’t have to go far afield for beauty–such is life at Glenuig. Struie Hill Rain View from Home, Glenuig Dornoch is just up the road a mile–here’s the castle at sunset. Ah…in for the night!
Ithica…the journey

Ithaca, a poem by Constantine P Cavafy, from a friend to send me on my journey to Scotland. Also read at Jackie Kennedy’s funeral, the poem encourages the journey, and reminds me of The Alchemist, an allegorical novel by Paulo Coelho first published in 1988.
