Scotland Fine Art Photography Photo of the Day– Boundary, Durness (Nov. 6)
Sally on Nov 6th 2009
We ate a quick bite while 50 mile per hour winds bashed the thin walls of the cafe; hit wildly erratic golf balls across the cove on #18 of Durness Golf Course; toured the cemetery on a blustery hillside; and finally came to Smoo Cave.
Scotland Fine Art Photography Photo of the Day – Dune Grasses and Sky #2 (Nov. 4)

Dune Grasses and Sky #2: I was striving to allow the grasses to reach both above and below the earth making them central and connective.
Scotland Fine Art Photography Photo of the Day–Garden Wall (Nov. 3)
Sally on Nov 3rd 2009
While we’re doing close ups…Here is Garden Wall. Textures in sunlight intrigued me on this morning walk in Dornoch, Scotland. This garden wall appeared as I walked the back road up behind the cathedral to get a view out over the town to the Dornoch Firth beyond. As always, however, it is the small places, [...]
Scotland Fine Art Photography Photo of the Day–A Flash of Blue (Nov. 2)
Sally on Nov 2nd 2009
I am always in search of isolated trees that stand tall and speak of the centuries they have known. This grand dame reached into the emerging storm as if in a defiant, celebratory dance. Delay…and Renewed Tales from Scotland
Sally on Sep 18th 2009
My sincere apologies to my followers for the delay in entries here. On August 24, my husband, Rex, fell ill and went into Raigmore Hospital in Inverness, Scotland, with bleeding ulcers. Ten days later he was well enough to travel, we’d made some wonderful new friends, and we were honored to have had great health [...]
Country / City Communion: Croick Church and Dornoch Cathedral
Sally on Aug 17th 2009
Most Sundays we attend the Dornoch Cathedral while we’re here. We love the dynamic pastor, Susan Brown, who reminds us of our own beloved Pam Dreisell at Oconee Presbyterian back in Oconee County, Georgia. (A shout out to our friends there!) But last week was the one Sunday a year when area churches celebrate a [...]
Fine Art Photo of the Day: Croft House, the Highlands
Sally on Aug 14th 2009
Just a favorite image from our drive through the Highlands the other day. This croft house is just beyond Bonar Bridge. The history of crofting is rich, and issues of support for crofting continues to be a major issue in this area.
